Refund policy
30-Day Returns & 1-Year Warranty
We offer a 30-day return window from the date your order is delivered, plus a 1-year warranty for defective or damaged products from the date of original purchase.
Return Eligibility
To be eligible for a return, the blind must be in unused condition, in its original packaging, with all original components included. Items that have been installed, used, or show signs of wear are not eligible for a return.
It is the customer's responsibility to measure their window and confirm suitability before purchasing. We do not offer refunds for incorrect measurements or sizing errors. If you are unsure about sizing, please contact us before placing your order and we will be happy to help.
Do I Have to Pay for Returns?
Return shipping costs are the customer's responsibility. The following flat return shipping fees will be deducted from your refund:
• Single Blind Pack: $15.00
• Double Blind Pack: $22.00
• Family Blind Pack: $35.00
For orders containing multiple items, each returned item is assessed individually and subject to the applicable fees.
Original shipping costs are non-refundable and will not be included in your refund.
Defective or Damaged Items (1-Year Warranty)
If your product arrives damaged, defective, or with missing components, please contact us within 7 days of delivery with photo evidence. We will provide a free replacement or full refund at no cost to you. Return shipping fees and restocking fees do not apply to defective items. This warranty covers manufacturing defects and faulty components for up to 1 year from the date of original purchase.
Order Cancellations After Dispatch
Once an order has been shipped, it cannot be cancelled.
If you no longer want the item, you may return it after delivery in accordance with this return policy. Return shipping costs will apply and be deducted from your refund.
We are unable to guarantee interception or cancellation of orders once they have been dispatched.
How to Request a Return
To start a return, contact us at hello@myblackout.com.au. Items sent back without first requesting a return will not be accepted.
How Long Does It Take for My Return or Exchange to Be Processed?
We aim to process returns as quickly as possible.
We strongly encourage you to keep your post office receipt as proof your return has been lodged. Once this is provided, we can process your refund or exchange without waiting for the parcel to arrive at our warehouse.
If proof of postage is not provided, we will process your return once the item has been received and inspected at our warehouse.
How Long Does It Take to Receive My Refund?
Once your refund has been processed, you will receive a confirmation email.
Refunds typically appear in your account within 2–5 business days, depending on your bank or payment provider. If it takes longer, please contact your bank or payment provider directly.
