Refund policy

30-Day Returns & 1-Year Warranty

We want you to love what you ordered. If you're not completely satisfied, you can return any item within 30 days of delivery for a refund or exchange, for any reason. Every product is also covered by a 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects.

This policy covers all products. A few details differ by product, so we've set them out clearly below.

Blue Light Blocking Glasses

30-day change-of-mind returns. If the glasses aren't right for you, return them within 30 days of delivery for a refund or exchange. To be eligible, they should be in good, resalable condition and returned with the original case and packaging.

Try them on, test them and see how they feel. We just ask that they come back clean, unscratched, and complete.

Do I Have to Pay for Returns for blue light glasses?

Return shipping costs are the customer's responsibility. Original shipping costs like express shipping are non-refundable and will not be included in your refund.

Portable Blackout Blinds

30-day returns. Blinds can be returned within 30 days of delivery, provided they are unused, in their original packaging, with all original components included. Items that have been installed, used, or show signs of wear aren't eligible for a change-of-mind return.

Please measure your window and confirm suitability before ordering. We can't refund incorrect measurements or sizing errors, but if you're unsure, contact us before you buy and we'll help you get it right.

Do I Have to Pay for Returns for blinds?

Return shipping costs are the customer's responsibility. The following flat return shipping fees will be deducted from your refund:

• Single Blind Pack: $15.00
• Double Blind Pack: $22.00
• Family Blind Pack: $35.00

For orders containing multiple items, each returned item is assessed individually and subject to the applicable fees.

Original shipping costs are non-refundable and will not be included in your refund.

Defective or Damaged Items (1-Year Warranty)

If your product arrives damaged, defective, or with missing components, please contact us within 7 days of delivery with photo evidence. We will provide a free replacement or full refund at no cost to you. Return shipping fees and restocking fees do not apply to defective items. This warranty covers manufacturing defects and faulty components for up to 1 year from the date of original purchase.

Order Cancellations After Dispatch

Once an order has been shipped, it cannot be cancelled.

If you no longer want the item, you may return it after delivery in accordance with this return policy. 

Any applicable return shipping costs will apply, as set out above.

We are unable to guarantee interception or cancellation of orders once they have been dispatched.

How to Request a Return

To start a return, contact us at hello@myblackout.com.au. Items sent back without first requesting a return will not be accepted.

How Long Does It Take for My Return or Exchange to Be Processed?

We aim to process returns as quickly as possible.

We strongly encourage you to keep your post office receipt as proof your return has been lodged. Once this is provided, we can process your refund or exchange without waiting for the parcel to arrive at our warehouse.

If proof of postage is not provided, we will process your return once the item has been received and inspected at our warehouse.

How Long Does It Take to Receive My Refund?

Once your refund has been processed, you will receive a confirmation email.

Refunds typically appear in your account within 2–5 business days, depending on your bank or payment provider. If it takes longer, please contact your bank or payment provider directly.
